What Makes a Good Speaker? ¹¹°¡ ÁÁÀº ½ºÇÇÄ¿¸¦ ¸Î½À´Ï´Ù?
When people hear that I owned a national, professional speakers bureau for 13 years, they often ask me, who are the best speakers and why? ±× ¶§ »ç¶÷µéÀº Á¾Á¾ ´©°¡ ÃÖ°íÀÇ ½ºÇÇÄ¿¿Í ¿Ö ³ªÇÑÅ× ¹°¾î 13 ³â µ¿¾È ±¹°¡, Àü¹® ½ºÇÇÄ¿ Áö±¹ Áß°í µé·Á? What follows are some of the characteristics of a very successful speaker who is often a highly paid speaker. ±× ´ÙÀ½Àº ¿©±â¼ ¾î¶² »ç¶÷µéÀº ¸Å¿ì À¯·á ½ºÇÇÄ¿´Â ¸Å¿ì ¼º°øÀûÀÎ ½ºÇÇÄ¿ÀÇ Æ¯¼º ÁßÀÇ ÇϳªÀÌ´Ù.
'Tell' em what you're going to tell them, tell them, and then tell' em what you told them." ''´ç½ÅÀÌ ±×µé¿¡°Ô ±×µé¿¡°Ô ¸»ÇØ, ±×¸®°í '±×µé¿¡°Ô ¸»ÇÑ ¸» ÇÒ °ÇÁö ¸»ÇØÁà. "
1.They arrive early and check out the sound system and introduce themselves to audience members during the networking time. ÀÏÂï µµÂøÇؼ È®ÀÎÇØ 1.They »ç¿îµå ½Ã½ºÅÛ°ú ³×Æ®¿öÅ· ½Ã°£ µ¿¾È ûÁß¿¡°Ô ÀÚ½ÅÀ» ¼Ò°³Çß´Ù.
2.They speak on a subject that their audience needs to hear. And they use words and body language that shows their passion and authenticity. 2.TheyµéÀÌ °ü°´À» ÇÊ¿ä ÁÖÁ¦¿¡ ´ëÇÑ À̾߱⸦ µè°í .... ±×¸®°í ±×µéÀÇ ½Åü ¾ð¾î¸¦ »ç¿ëÇÏ´Â ´Ü¾î¿Í ±× ÀÚ½ÅÀÇ ¿Á¤°ú ½Å·Ú¼ºÀ» º¸¿©ÁÝ´Ï´Ù.
3.They connect with their audience in the first few minutes with a riveting story, a funny incident, a startling statement or perhaps a poem. 3.They a ´ä´äÇØ À̾߱â, Àç¹Õ´Â »ç°Ç, ³î¶ö¸¸ÇÑ Áø¼ú ¶Ç´Â ¾Æ¸¶µµ ½Ã¸¦ ÇÔ²² óÀ½ ¸î ºÐ ¾È¿¡ ÀÚ½ÅÀÇ Ã»Áßµé°ú ¿¬°áÇÒ ¼öÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. They know how to make their opening remarks relate to the material that follows. ±×µéÀÌ ¾ó¸¶³ª ±×µéÀÇ °³¹æ°ú °ü·ÃµÈ ¹ß¾ðÀº ±× ´ÙÀ½¿¡ ¼ÒÀçÇÏ°Ô ¾Ë°íÀÖ´Ù.
4. They have no fear. ±×µéÀº ¾Æ¹«·± µÎ·Á¿òÀÌÀÖ´Ù. They don't only say what the audience wants to hear, but what they NEED to hear. ±×µé»Ó ¾Æ´Ï¶ó °ü°´ÀÌ µè°í ½ÍÀº °Ô ¹ºÁö, ¹«½¼ ¸»À» ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖÁö¸¸ ±×µéÀÌ µè°í ½Í¾î¿ä. In other words, their remarks may raise some eyebrows. Áï, ÀÚ½ÅÀÇ ¹ß¾ðÀÌ ÀϺΠÀ̸À »ìÀ» ÂîǪ¸®´Ù ¼öÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. They give their audiences some fresh ideas. °ü°´µéÀº ½Å¼±ÇÑ ¾ÆÀ̵ð¾î¸¦ Á¦°øÇß´Ù.
5.They never make more than 3-4 points in their speech. They don't feel the need to tell an audience everything they know. No one can retain it all. ¾Æ¹«µµ ±×°ÍÀ» ¸ðµÎ À¯ÁöÇÒ ¼öÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. For each major point they tell an illustrative story. ¼³¸íÀÇ À̾߱âµéÀº °¢ ÁÖ¿ä ÁöÁ¡. A good story evokes emotion and offers a lesson. ÁÁÀº À̾߱â´Â °¨Á¤À» ´À³¢°ÔÇÏ°í ±³ÈÆÀ» Á¦°øÇÑ´Ù. The audience members are then only a step away from their own story. ÀÚ½ÅÀÇ À̾߱⿡¼ °ü°´ ȸ¿øÀÌ ´ÙÀ½ ´Ü°è¿¡ ºÒ°ú °É¸².
6. They make great eye contact and make each person feel attended to. ±×µéÀº Å« ´« ¸¶ÁÖÄ¡ÁöÇÏ°í °¢ »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô Âü¼® ´À³¢°ÔÇß´Ù. This makes them appear to be more heartfelt and really present for their audience. ±×µéÀÌ ÁøÂ¥·Î ÀÚ½ÅÀÌ ´õ °ü°´¿¡°Ô ÁÙ ¼±¹°À» Áø½ÉÀ¸·Î µÉ °ÍÀ¸·Î º¸ÀδÙ.
7. Before closing, they summarize and reiterate their major points. ´Ý±â Àü¿¡, ±×µéÀº ±×µéÀÇ ÁÖ¿ä Á¡À» ¿ä¾àÇÏ°í °Á¶Çß´Ù. They end with an inspiring story and a call to action. ºÐ¹ß À̾߱â¿Í ÇൿÀ¸·Î Àüȸ¦ °¡Áø ±×µéÀº ³¡. They hold the audience accountable - to take some action in the next few days, weeks. ±×µéÀº ûÁß Ã¥ÀÓ - ¾ÕÀ¸·Î ¸çÄ¥, ¸î ÁÖ ¾È¿¡ Á¶Ä¡¸¦ ÃëÇÒ ¼öÀÖ´Ù.
8.They don't talk too long. 8.They ³Ê¹« ¿À·¡ ¾ê±âÇÏÁö ¾Ê½À´Ï´Ù. They know how much time they have been assigned and they don't exceed it. ±×µéÀº ±×µéÀÌ ¾ó¸¶³ª ¸¹Àº ½Ã°£ÀÌ ÇÒ´çµÇ¾î ÀÖ°í, ±×µéÀº ±×°ÍÀ» ÃʰúÇÏÁö ¾Ë¾Æ¿ä.
9.They rehearse their speech a few times but never sound canned. ÇÏÁö¸¸, ¸î Â÷·Ê ÅëÁ¶¸²ÇÑ 9.TheyµéÀÇ ¿¬¼³À» ¿¬½À ¼Ò¸® ÀûÀÌÀÖ´Ù. They NEVER read their speech verbatim. ±×µéÀº Àý´ë·Î ÀÚ½ÅÀÇ ¿¬¼³¹®À» ÀÐÀº Ãà¾îÀûÀÎ.
10.All successful speakers market themselves. 10.All ¼º°øÀûÀÎ ½ÃÀå ÀÚü ½ºÇÇÄ¿. They all promote themselves. ±×µéÀº ¸ðµÎ ½º½º·Î¸¦ ÃßÁøÇϰíÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. And they all Network. ±×¸®°í ±×µéÀº ¸ðµÎ ³×Æ®¿öÅ©. They are a model of excellence. ±×µéÀº ÃÖ»óÀÇ ¸ðµ¨ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. And you can be too! ±×¸®°í ´ç½ÅÀÌ µÉ ¼öµµ!
